Drugstore Product Review- Maybelline New York Master Prime Blur + Smooth

This is one of those products that I picked up on a whim and expected nothing but total crap. I have never tried a drugstore level primer before but I love me some primer, and I am trying to expand my horizons.

I am pleasantly surprised to say the least. See a demo here.

Product: Maybelline Master Prime blur + smooth

Price: $11.99 Canadian

Claims

  • Visually blurs tone imperfections and smoothes fine lines
  • Primes skin for a smooth start
  • Lightweight non-oily formula
  • Does not clog pores

Directions: Wear alone or under makeup to refine wear

I would say the claims are pretty bang on. I like that there is no silicone feel to the product. It feels just as nice as a silicone based primer. It doesn’t get tacky like my Becca Primer, or feel like it  to pulls on the skin when applying. I am actually fairly certain that the Becca Primer was making me break out and this lil guy cleared my skin up!

It is smooth,  lightweight, and holds onto my foundation even better than the last four or five primers I have tried. Eg. Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer.

I have no complaints about this product and it works amazing with my new Fit me Matte + Poreless foundation. These two products and my Maybelline Fit me concealer are all the first products I have tried from Maybelline’s face line and I am now officially an advocate for these products!
