Happy Canada Day my fellow Canadians!
I was pondering about how I was going to end the month and realized I haven’t been keeping up with any of my series posts. Bad Candice. So what better way to rectify that problem, then by starting another series. HA! Enter Best & Worst of this months Ipsy.
Most bloggers/vloggers, myself as no exception are consistently doing un-baggings of the Ipsy shipment, but rarely, if ever actually review the products. When I first started here in the Chaos I was pretty adamant on making sure you all knew EXACTLY how I felt about the products that showed up on my door step in that oh so charming bright pink foiler. So, back to basics.
Best in Bag June
So there were multiple great products in this months bag, but I have to give it to the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil.
Why it’s the winner: I don’t know how many products can truly claim universitility <— I may have just made that word up, but this one definitly can. My hair is BLACK, like JET. Like evil black nightmare fairy, sinking black hole black, and this worked for me. My regular go to everyday product is my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow, and I use the shade ebony. The tip is an odd oval shape and not what you would expect to be doing precision brow work, but for some reason, it really does work, and the harder you press down on the product the darker it gets. Starting at light ash blonde to dark dark brown. In my eyes anything that is that universal and really takes the guess work out of picking out a brow product is a winner for me.
Worse for Wear
I am not entirely sure what rubs me the wrong way with this one. I realize it is just a lotion but right from the get go I was put off. Starting with the packaging. It is so close to body shop packaging that everytime I see if in my drawer I think that is were it’s from, and I’m like what the hell? I don’t shop there where did you come from, and the whole ordeal is just concerning. Second, the smell. I can’t stand it, and it’s not like I don’t like the smell of vanilla or anything. This vanilla, isn’t a nice vanilla. It’s like a hospital vanilla, or an old ladies bathroom deodorizer vanilla. (sorry for being so graphic but I need everyone to understand the smelly sensation I am trying to explain here). When I smell it I think of the old doilies that used to sit on my late step-nana’s over-the-toilet organizer.
What was your experience with this? Any faves or can’t-stands from your subscription boxes this month?
