I love fall, it’s my favourite time, for food, fashion, beauty and weather. Sweater weather is the best, curling up under a blanket on the porch with a book and a tea, there is nothing like it in the world.
I wanted to share my top 5 favourite nail polishes for fall to get us all ready for the season!
1) Essie Don’t Sweater It
Description: “A warm cozy, and creamy mauve.” Oddly enough I wouldn’t have described this as mauve, but more of a dark taupe mauve. Its a beautiful cream and is completely opaque in two coats. This is my absolute favourite for fall and the winter months. It really is cozy! Purchase
2) Zoya Tris
Description: “described as a blackened, brushed nickel liquid metal” It has a metallic finish and looks flawless when on my nails. I have issues with the ridges in my nails showing through every single metallic polish I own, which makes me not want to wear them. This one however, fills the ridges and smooths my nails in a beautiful flawless finish. I also love the name, as soon as I pulled the colour out I thought “wow this reminds me of dauntless in Divergent” What do you know… it’s named after the main character! Purchase
3) Zoya Ember
Description: “a deep, fiery red liquid metal with enough blue to be wearable for all skin tones” I am in love with this colour, it is unlike anything else I have in my 189 nail polish collection (oh jeeze, nail polish de-stash coming soon). The bright metallic red finish reminds me of the fall leaves changing colours and a brightly burning fire.
4) China Glaze Rain Dance the Night Away
Description : Teal blue cream, reminiscent of accent colours in a native throw blanket. I picked this up in a kit at Winners a few weeks ago, and it’s a beautifully muted blue. It reminds me of the sky on a sunny fall day, going for a walk lakeside. It is the middle shade, and this is the kit it came in.
5) Formula X Massive
Description: “Charcoal blue” I don’t know what it is with my eyesight and these crazy descriptions from the manufacturer websites, however to me this is not blue, but a deep hunter green. I love it because it’s a perfect transition colour between fall and winter, a deep green like an evergreen, but with a charcoal burn off undertone.
