Good morning everyone!
This post is going to be a bit out of the ordinary. I have stayed fairly quiet on the YouTube and social media platform rule and algorithm changes. After watching many people react negatively on their YouTube channels and in the beauty groups on facebook. I have decided to speak out.

We run our own community
This is our community. It is up to us how we exist in it. I want to see some channel links left in the comments, blog, instagram, and twitter links. Give me your facebook pages to engage on. I will be there, and I will support you. It is our choice on if we link drop and don’t support the rest of the team. If you do not engage, no one will engage with you. It’s the first step in being successful here.

Stop making it about the money
I won’t sit here and tell you that I wasn’t disappointed about the Youtube changes to the partnership program. I have been a YouTube partner for years now, and they are now taking that away because I don’t hit their new thresholds. (close but no cigar). I wasn’t however, upset about the $50 a year I might be earning. I am disappointed in the features that we lose. I don’t monetize my blog because it’s not about the money. The second we stop caring about the money and only focus on the enjoyment and what we are doing, the money will come. My personal thought process? The big ones we see? Jaclyn, Nicole, Carli, Tati? They didn’t start this thinking I am going to be a millionaire one day. It probably never crossed their minds. Doing something you love because you love it is what produces great content.

If you see something, Say something
Sometimes I see the talent in this community, the videos, the posts, the writing, the photography, and all I can think is WOW these men and women are incredible how did they learn to do that?! Then I see their view count, and it’s hovering around 10 in a week. I encourage you, if you see something… Say something! (You see what I did there?) SHARE THAT CHANNEL, ON ALL PLATFORMS. There is power in numbers, I don’t care if the last 40 tweets on my account aren’t promoting my own content. If you are amazing and talented, I will support you too, and you better believe I will scream it from the hill tops of facebook.
I hope my messaging is coming across loud and clear, as I am tired on Sunday morning writing this out. Support our own, Do what you love, and promote the talented!

Word! I am always a little oblivious to all the thresholds and numbers. I like seeing my own numbers grow but I haven’t monetized any content ever. I already have a job that I love, but I love this too. A human being can have more than one interest (who knew! ***note the sarcasm***). While it would be nice to earn a little bit extra one day, I am enjoying life as it is. I find that commenting on other blogs/ instagrams/ youtube channels is quite possibly the best way to get people noticed. So I try to do so myself as much as I can.

I totally agree. I was disappointed with the change but it won’t stop and shouldn’t stop me from doing it. The amount of videos on YouTube that were basically €^%# YouTube was surprising…. just made me a bit disappointed in general. The Instagram algorithm changed so it’s no longer chronological it only shows you the most popular posts

I hate the Instagram algorithm because it now means I see posts that were published up to 4 days ago, which makes me want to comment and share less. I wish you could switch on a filter as a viewer that allows you to choose between most popular and chronological.

Totally agree I hate how much irrelevant stuff it shows me. The popular get more popular and I never see anything from my friends

This was a really amazing post! I also completely agree about doing what you love and then having the money come later, when youtube first started no one was making heaps of money off it at first and it was just for enjoyment, none of the huge beauty vloggers now thought they would ever make a living off of youtube! btw, we have nominated you for a liebster award and you can see our latest post for the tag if you want to participate!
