Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Foundation Review

Good Morning and Happy Monday,

After my first experience doing a full face with one brand I was surprised to find some products I really loved, and some I really didn’t.

For those of you interested in the video here it is, BUT I made promises for full reviews of the products I used so I am being sure to include them here throughout the week as promised.

So let’s start from the bottom up I suppose and go straight to the face products to start the week. (I’m skipping primer because it’s not that fun to review. It goes on your skin, it feels nice. WIN!)

Shade Range: 20, ranging from Porcelain to Mahogany, in a range of under tones.  ( I purchased soft beige)

Price: $6.29

Packaging: This is a fairly sleek glass bottle, and there isn’t too much fuss about it. However as I had mentioned in my video, when I was looking at the shades and opened one of the bottles the cap broke apart from the applicator which makes me wary of the quality on the lid.

The glass is solid, and it shows the infamous cruelty free symbol. Wet n Wild is 100% cruelty free, and this bottle contains 30ml of product. For comparison the L’oreal True Match foundation contains the same amount and is about $10 more expensive.

The smell: I can’t lie, it smells like paint. This isn’t something you can smell while it’s on your face, or even while blending it, but if you are in the habit of snorting your make up before you put it on and hate the smell of paint, this may cause a problem for you.

Ingredients: Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Water/Eau, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Silica, Sodium Chloride, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Hexyl Laurate, Polysilicone-11, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Laureth-12, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, (MAY CONTAIN/PEUT CONTENIR): Titanium Dioxide/CI 77891, Mica, Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499.

Application: I am yet to determine how I feel about the applicator on this product. I don’t hate it, but because so many people have said they hate touching it on their skin and putting it back in the bottle, and thats germy has made me wonder if I also think it’s gross. Then my brain gets the better of me, and I think my face is already clean when I am putting on my makeup, wouldn’t it be worse to pump it out onto my hand like I normally do to pick it up on my brush? I think I like the applicator. IMG_2917 2.JPG

The Finish and Wear: This has been my second day wearing it, and by the end of the filming, editing uploading, and my general day to day the foundation wore beautifully. I thought better of it, as to not be tricked on a first impression and wore it again today. Then I went to CostCo, which is always a mistake. That place makes me angry, and being angry makes me sweaty, so the foundation actually have something to content with.

This is after four hours and a Costco shopping trip filed with rage.

It’s not the worst it’s ever been but we are definitly having some separation on my forehead, and total abandonment on my note and chin. This would normally really bother me, but I was able to clean it up by basically just taking a tiny bit more foundation and pressing it into the worn spots with a kabuki brush. Problem solved and back to normal within a few mins. That is rare for me to be able to do that, normally it looks patchier and scarier.

This foundation is a medium coverage matte finish, and I can see why it is so popular, however I am only going to give it 3/4 stars.

How did you feel about this foundation? What makes you love one?

  1. This foundation surprised me because I’ve had awful luck with WNW foundation in the past. I like the coverage and it plays well with my combo skin. I need to get a new bottle as I’m currently out. Been trying to get through other foundations first but I think I’ve downsized enough to warrant a repurchase now.

  2. I want to know what happened at Costco… 😆

This has been on my list to try. I almost bought it last year at Walmart – had it in my hand, walking around the store, and actually put it back because I have too many foundations! Still want to try it though mainly because the formula sounds decent and it’s so inexpensive! Have you tried The Ordinary’s foundations yet?
