Shop My Stash | KVD Metal Matte

There are so many amazing products I forget about so I am grateful to shop my stash. The Metal Matte palette came out in 2016 and is B-E-A-Utiful, however I never reach for it because I never think about it.

I did this weekend, and holy hell it’s amazing, if Kat Von D was to re-release some palettes my hands are up for this one and the Mi Vida Loca. Are you hearing me Kat? ARE YOU HEARING ME!?!?!?!

I chose to whittle up a look using Nebula, Watt, Ignite and Velour. It’s important to get out of the box sometimes isn’t it? IMG_2886

Velour- With a big fluffy brush, buff this into the crease building up intensity as you go, start small and go big, because you can always add, you can’t always buff it away.

Nebula- pack this on the outer portion of the lid and slowly bring into the center of the lid (It’s intense be wary).

Watt- Pat onto the center of the lid, and over towards the inner corner.

Ignite- Blend into Watt, and into the inner corner.

Using the blending brush, go back into velour and blend all the edges of the lid shades out again. Run a pencil brush with the same shade, along the lower lash line.

I used Bone from the same palette (not pictured) for my brow bone highlight. That was a punny sentence. I’m proud of myself.

Then BAM! IMG_7478.JPGThe real trick to this look being successful? Scotch tape. Put it down to keep your edges clean before you start. Psych– I wish I was that good to have that hard of a cut on a look without assistance from some office supplies

Lashes: Kiss 01 | Lips: ABH Liquid Lip in Heathers

Warning- Do not use Duct Tape, you can and WILL rip the skin off your face.

What palettes have you been shopping in your stash lately? And thanks for reading!

Products I’ve Changed my Mind About | Essence Lash Princess

Mascaras and I are a thing. We have the most abusive relationship you could possibly get with a makeup product. There have been many trials and tribulations, ups and downs, etc etc. I have even kicked them out of my house for months at a time.

One of the  YouTube favourites is the Essence Lash Princess, which can be purchased for about $5 at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. So I clearly picked it up because it was going to change my world. Obviously it didn’t, because as previously mentioned me and 90% of mascaras? Nope. We just don’t get along. Into the drawer it went.

Since starting shop my stash, I have been pulling out products and giving them a second chance.  HOLY HELL am I glad I did!

There is not a laundry list of products that I have made such a violent 180 on, but wowza. This elongates and adds volume while still holding an impressive curl. The brush is thin and easy to work with as well, after about three coats this is where we are at.IMG_2314.JPGIMG_2318.JPG

What are your products that you have changed your mind on? Hated at first, and loved after a revisit? This is why shopping our stashes is so important!

Lipstick Collection & Declutter

Guys, I finally got up the balls to do a REAL declutter, I had no idea how far down the rabbit hole I had gotten with my lip products, I was almost hitting 300, who could use this much? Not me obviously, especially since I didn’t even like half of them.

I recorded my collection and my declutter, and to be honest, it was fairly savage, with almost half of the collection gone in the end. Some old and expired, some I don’t like, or have terrible formulas. This seems wasteful, but many were also sent in PR, so I try not to feel too bad. It’s a great video to leave on in the background if nothing 🙂

Thanks so much for watching/reading, and feel free to leave your links below.

Shop My Stash Week 1

Shop my stash has become fairly important to me, for those of you that don’t know what the premise of this is… It’s basically a way to realize if you actually like something that is sitting in your collection, or if you only keep it there because it feels nice to have a pile of make up that IF toppled could kill a small village.

These are the products I chose for last week with a quick explanation of how I feel about them, and if they are stash or trash.

Shopping My Stash – Items I Forgot About

There is no way in the world that I am the only one who does this, we all get wrapped up in the world of new releases and buy buy buy culture.

This post is dedicated to my fallen soldiers who I am currently powering back through. The old loves, the forgotten friends, those work horse products that so lovingly stood by me when they were a favourite or just plain old didn’t work for me at the time, and I have given a second chance to.

  1. ABH World Traveler Limited Edition (no longer available)2290621.jpgI bought this knowing I would love the warm tones and want to rub that lovely pink champagne all over my face, used it probably ten times, it went in the drawer after my initial review and didn’t make it back out for some time. Fast forward to today when I saw it, and was like yup. I’m going to be using this today, and now I am likely going to leave it out for the rest of the week to show it some love.
