The Lipstick Tag

I would like to thank CarlySilvariMUA for the idea for this post, since I have been away so long I need assistance for what I want to talk about it would seem! Never thought I would be in that position where I am at a loss for words.

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

Um… over 130. This does not include crayons, glosses or liquid lipsticks. Am I proud of that? No. Am I not NOT proud of it? NO!

2. What was your first ever lipstick?
Oh my, I actually remember it very well. It may not have been my first lipstick ever but it was definitely the first one I bought and wore consistently as an “adult” — Read 12. It was one of those black and gold packaging, purple frost lipsticks from Revlon, and it made me feel so adult and  oh so FIERCE! Cindy Crawford eat your heart out.

3. What is your most worn lipstick?

Although I hate to admit it, I would say it’s probably YSL #10. This is the lipstick that stays in my purse at all times. It is easy to apply when I need to reapply on the go, and it will apply well over whatever I have left on my lips from my choice in the morning. (except for red, but when you put on red you need to take it with you, it’s an all day commitment) I just checked to see if it is still available and it would seem I can’t find it. Hm.

4. What is your favourite brand of lipstick?

Someone asked me this today and I can honestly say I don’t think I really have one. I prefer liquid lipsticks as a formula which you will also find out in the next question. If there was a gun to my head I would say the best lipsticks you can buy for your money are probably the Maybelline line. The lipsticks I have the most of are Mac.

5. What is your favourite finish?

Liquid… by far. I have no idea why, but since they were launched, all the rest of my lipsticks might as well go jump off a cliff. Nothing has the wear time or finish like a liquid lipstick as far as I am concerned. If I could cement a colour onto my lips for the day I am a happy camper.

6. What is the last lipstick you bought?
I actually bought 3 of the new Maybelline bolds, shown below. So far so good, I only bought them on Sunday so I haven’t been able to spend enough time with them to really give them a go. I did wear 770- Mauve It on Monday and enjoyed it. So I guess I can speak to that.

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

5…. They just end up in there, I don’t know

8. What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?

American Doll Liquid lipstick by Anastasia Beverly Hills. As a matter of fact I was wearing it yesterday.

9. How do you store your lipsticks?

I actually put them in this beautiful 130 slot Sonny cosmetics organizer. Look at it, bask in the beauty. LOVE IT. For anyone interested they are @sonnycosmetics on instagram.

10. What lip products are you currently lusting over?

I am not a crazy lipstick person. I realize that seems ridiculous coming from the amount that I have in my collection, but really. I think once you have a few really great products and shades it is hard to top it. If I had to pick an actual favourite colour I will say its catnip in the liquid lipstick formula from ABH!!
